Dilwara Temple's Rajastan



Dilwara Jain temples were built by Vastupal-Tejpal, Jain laymen. Dilwara temple considers as one of the most beautiful Jain pilgrimage sites in the world. It's architecture reflecting Jain values like honesty and prudence. Dilwara temple consists of five temples, each with its own unique identity. The Dilwara temples are 2.5 kilometers from Mount Abu, Rajasthan.“Mount Abu” is Rajasthan’s only hill station. Located at an elevation of 1220 meters above sea level. Dilwara five temples are:



  1. Vimal Vasahi Temple (Shri AdiNath Temple

"This temple made with white marble. This temple built in 1031 A.D. by Vimalsha, who was a minister of Bhimdev I, the Chalukya King, Solanki Maharaja of Gujarat."This Temple is dedicated to first Jain Tirthankara Rishabha

Luna Vasahi(Shri NemiNathJi Temple)

This temple was built in 1230 by two brothers - Vastupal and Tejpal - both ministers of a Virdhaval, the Vaghela ruler of Gujarat.This Temple dedicated to the 22nd Jain Tirthankara, Shri Nemi Nathji.The idol of Shri Neminath Ji is made up of black marble temple has the main Hall called Rang mandap which has 360 tiny idols of Jain Tirthankara which is made up of marble.

3. Pittalhar Temple (Shri Rishabdaoji Temple):

This temple was built by Bhamashah of Rajasthan. "Who was a minister of Maharana Pratap"This temple dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankar, Rishabha.It has a big casted metal statue of Rishabha Dev Who was the first Jain Tirthankara.The main metal used in this statue is "Pital" hence the name of this temple is'Pittalhar'

How to Reach Dilwara temples
  • By train: The train is probably the easiest way to reach Mount Abu. Abu Road is the nearest station to the main city which is located only 28 km from the city.

  • By Air: The nearest airport is Udaipur, if you are traveling by air. However, you will have to book a taxi to reach Mount Abu from the airport.

  • By Road: Well connected to major cities, Mount Abu is easily accessible by road. A short 163km from Udaipur, Mount Abu is the perfect option for a road trip. An overnight drive, Delhi is located 739km from Mount Abu. Jaipur is located less than 500kms from Mount Abu and is a 7-hour drive.
